Bionicle Art Squad: Zyglak Concepts

Hey, if you guys didn't get the message, a new group is being formed, the Bionicle Art Squad. Currently, they are working with the Deviantart group Unity-Duty-Destiny, but they have their own blog. The first (technically second) theme is Zyglak. You know, those savage, brutal monstrosities that think everyone looks better with a dagger in them? Of course, as soon as I found out, I was sketching away. Normally, I don't put this much work into a design (oftentimes I should), but I think this called for it to get the body design for the Zyglak down. There's still a lot to do before my entry is finished, but I thought it would be fun to give you guys a look into my design process.

You also might notice I've been doing things a little bit differently. I've been looking at the art of other Bionicle artists (especially That-1-Unique-Skakdi, he will be missed) and trying to put my favorite parts of their art into mine. A lot of people complain that Bionicle art now just looks like people in suits, and I'm trying to get away from that. My 2015 sketches are in a similar style, and I'll upload those once I get them to where I like them to be.
